During an event for season ticket holders and sponsors of Pittsburgh Pirates spring training, Latisha Kirk was in labor in the breezeway at McKechnie Field in Bradenton, Florida. Standing by was none other than Trevor Gooby, director of Florida Operations for the Pirates. Would Gooby have to “play catcher”?
Using solely the knowledge he had from delivery of his own two children, Gooby had to assist Latisha in giving birth to her baby boy just before the ambulance arrived. According to the Herald Gooby says his wife didn’t believe him when he called her just minutes afterwards. “I hope the grows up to be a Pirate,” Gooby is quoted as saying.
So goes the story of an unusual birth. Most likely Trevor Gooby will never be the same. Though Latisha Kirk says she won’t be naming her son Trevor, she is very grateful for the assistance of this one humble man. Spring training 2012 is now down in history for the Pirates, and perhaps Kirk’s baby boy will grow up to play baseball!

My company had an international artist picked up at JFK and dropped off in Philadelphia, and the artist had the best time. The driver kept in touch with me throughout the day, so we could plan for arrival, and our artist had the most wonderful experience with the driver. That’s really astounding considering our artist had just gotten off a red-eye from across the world. Thank you so very much!
