May 18th marks the closing day of this weeklong annual event that brings residents from all over the Philadelphia area to celebrate more than 100 Philly parks with activities including service projects, fun events & entertainment, educational programs, family activities, park tours and much more. Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival

On May 18th  from noon to 5pm, head on over to Walnut Street for the day of fantastic area food, fashion, arts & entertainment. More than 50,000 people are expected from all over the area to enjoy live music, free wine tastings, 40 participating restaurants and much more for visitors of all ages. Here’s some of what you can expect at this exciting event:

9th Street Italian Market Festival

On May 18th & 19th, traffic will be closed down completely to make way for a huge, multi-block festival in celebration of authentic Italian American culture in South Philadelphia. At the heart of the festivities is America’s oldest outdoor market, Philadelphia’s 9th Street Italian Market, joined by nearby restaurants bringing inside dining outside for the weekend. Several blocks of activities and entertainment include:

  • Curb vendors and street-side merchants
  • Specialty butcher, cheese, gift and cookware shops
  • Cooking demonstrations by top chefs
  • Live entertainment & roaming musicians
  • Procession of Saints
  • Family Events & Crafts

Trenton Avenue Arts Festival & Kinetic Sculpture Derby

Join more than 10,000 visitors on May 18th from noon to 5pm to celebrate East Kensington’s marvelous mix of local art, local music and local food with more than 200 participating area artists and eateries. This free event on Trenton Avenue is organized by East Kensington Neighbors Association volunteers to raise funds for neighborhood revitalization projects. Planned activities include:

  • Human-powered vehicle derby
  • Specialty foods
  • Live music & entertainment
  • Fun family activities
  • After-party with Live music & free beer

Brewerytown Spring Festival

Last but certainly not least, on May 18th from noon to 5pm, West Girard Avenue (2700 to 2800 blocks) will be transformed into a brilliant street festival in celebration of area art, food and music. The festivities will include:

  • Philadelphia Mobile Food Association (PMFA) food trucks
  • Family-friendly activities
