Atlantic City Attractions

What is there to do in Atlantic City?

Atlantic City is one of most exciting destination points on the eastern seaboard. It is a very unique resort destination offering everything from boardwalk casinos to maybe the best hoagies and Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwiches offered anywhere. If you want to experience what I personally consider the best hoagie or cheesesteak in the country, you must find a way to The White House in Atlantic City. Roadfood.com offers this review of this fine sub shop but I can tell you first hand, growing up in the Philadelphia area that this is the best Philadelphia Cheesesteak you can find.

Other great attractions, events and destination when traveling to Atlantic City are listed below with research credit going to VirtualTourist.com.

  1. The Atlantic City Boardwalk: This world famous boardwalk cover a few scenic miles on the beach and offers almost everything Atlantic City is known for, including the casinos, arcades and every type of food you can dream up.
  2. The Trump Taj Mahal: One of “The Donald’s” great casinos fashioned after the Taj Mahal. This is the 2nd largest casino in Atlantic City right behind the Borgata Hotel Casino.
  3. Caesar’s Hotel Casino: This wonderful Atlantic City casino is connected to the Luxe Mall at the Pier Shops accessible via the Sky Bridge. A lot of room to roam and shop.
  4. Bally’s Hotel Casino: Bally’s is one the original hotel casinos in Atlantic City when established (legalized) in 1976.
  5. The Tropicana Hotel Casino: A very nice hotel casino with a latin feel.
  6. The Atlantic City Beaches: Obviously used much more in the summer months but makes an Atlantic City vacation that much more attractive during those months. The ocean offers some nice waves (unlike The Gulf Coast) for surfing, body surfing or other water fun.
  7. The Atlantic City Steel Pier: An historic attraction and home of the diving horse back in the 1950s.
  8. Absecon Lighthouse: A great Atlantic City sightseeing attraction offering multiple views in many directions.

These are only a handful of the many Atlantic City attractions. The casinos are the main destination for most Atlantic City travelers but the historic boardwalk offers much more.

Not to beat a dead horse, don’t forget to try a hoagie or Philadelphia cheesesteak from the White House. So good, you might find yourself in a line that literally goes around the block. But… it’s worth it. We find these Philadelphia cheesesteaks so good that we have a standing order for all of our drivers (when transporting passengers to Atlantic City), to return with a White House hoagie or cheesesteak. That makes a significant statement when you understand our headquarters is located in Philadelphia, home of the Pats and Gino’s original Philadelphia cheesesteak.
